By 95.7 News Radio Staff

Today is Treaty Day, honouring the bond between the province’s Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.

To celebrate and mark the day as well as the start of Mi’kmaq History Month in Nova Scotia, Halifax’s City Hall will be lit up in orange today.

Government House will also host a flag-raising and reception at noon today following a 10:30 a.m. Treaty Day church service at St. Mary’s Basilica on Spring Garden Road.

Councillor Waye Mason will also host a Treaty Day proclamation reading at 1:30 p.m. in Peace & Friendship Park, following a Veterans Parade arrives after departing from Government House.
