Drivers needing a double-double clog Young Street (video)

By CityNews Halifax Staff

Halifax avoided the worst of Fiona's wrath, but can Haligonians get through the day uncaffeinated?

It appears the answer is no.

Halifax Regional Municipality is asking drivers to stay off the roads to make it easier for emergency first responders to navigate around downed trees and debris.

Despite that, the corner of Young and Robie is clogged with cars trying to reach the Tim Hortons drive-thru.

Hundred of thousands of Nova Scotians are without power, and the few Timmies in town that do have electricity are swamped with those needing their double- doubles.

This time lapse video shows the line up of cars waiting to get to the Timmies at Young and Robie Saturday morning.
