Gas prices expected to drop slightly in Nova Scotia

HALIFAX – Drivers can expect a drop in the price of gasoline across the province this week.

News 95.7 predicts when regulated gas prices are adjusted at midnight Friday the minimum price for regular self-serve will drop by just over two cents per litre.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices tells News 95.7 the drop doesn't have much to do with the recent volatility on the stock markets.

“All eyes are on U.S. domestic production and we're looking at inventory figures that will probably show the U.S. will be hitting at 10 million barrel-per-day output,” Murphy said.

“That is getting more focus now from speculators than the actual miniature crash we saw on the markets the other day.”

Across the border in New Brunswick, prices dropped over night to a maximum price of $119.6 per litre.
