Halifax Water warns of possible discoloured water on the peninsula

By Meghan Groff

Halifax Water says maintenance work on their water system could cause discoloured water and reduced water pressure for those living on the peninsula.

Crews are scheduled to start the work Wednesday morning and wrap up at around 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

“Any customers who experience discoloured water should run their cold water taps until the internal plumbing is clear,” said the utility in a news release. “They should also avoid washing light coloured clothes until their internal plumbing is clear.”

They add water will remain “bacteriologically” safe to drink.
