Shubie Beach reopens

UPDATE: Halifax Regional Municipality announced on July 25th that Shubie Beach has reopened to swimmers

Shubie Beach is closed to swimmers until further notice.

Halifax Regional Municipality says recent tests indicate bacteria levels exceed Health Canada guidelines. 

“High bacteria levels can be caused by a number of factors, including weather conditions and waterfowl,” the municipality said in a news release.

 Albro Lake Beach also remains closed as of Friday.

The water quality at all supervised municipal beaches is regularly tested throughout the summer months.

Residents can check the status of their favourite swimming spot online.
