HMCS Toronto deploys to Operation Reassurance

By Dan Ahlstrand

After addressing technical issues from it's last deployment HMCS Toronto is headed out of Halifax Saturday morning bound for a NATO mission in the Mediterranean Sea.

The ship will join Operation Reassurance, relieving HMCS Ville De Quebec which is currently on station with the Maritime Task Force.

HMCS Toronto made headlines in October when it experienced a total power loss while participating in training drills off of the United Kingdom.

The Frigate was being towed to port in Belfast for repairs when an on-board fire broke out in an engine room.

HMCS Ville De Quebec has been deployed since July.
