Investigation underway after fire on fishing boat in Eastern Passage

An investigation has been launched after a fishing boat went up in flames in Eastern Passage early Friday morning.
Halifax Fire Deputy Chief Dave Meldrum says crews were called out to the fire on Government Wharf Rd. just after midnight.
He says the fire was mostly contained to the cabin of the 30-foot vessel and was quickly knocked down.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Meldrum says Halifax Fire and the RCMP are both looking into it.
