Lots of emergency vehicles expected in the north end Wednesday for active intruder exercise

Residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality, especially in the vicinity of the Willow and Windsor Parks, are to be advised there will be an active intruder exercise conducted on DND property on Wednesday, May 16.
An active intruder is defined as an individual who enters a confined and populated area with the intention to cause serious harm to others.
These exercises are conducted regularly to ensure that personnel are familiar with emergency response plans and interoperability between local and Federal Departments is practiced.
Members of the public located or transiting in the vicinity of Windsor and Willow Parks may see several emergency vehicles participating in the exercise.
Safety teams will monitor and control all activities.
Any inconvenience to residents and motorists is regretted.
