Haligonians are rallying behind the Halifax Mooseheads' bid to host next year's Memorial Cup.

Junior hockey's biggest prize has been touring the city, giving fans a chance to take pictures and post them on social media using the hashtag #Halifax2019 to show their support for the bid.

“Today's our final day with the cup,” said the team's Community Liaison Chris Dyer. “As a final send off, we're going to have it set up at Scotia Square over the lunch hour.”

The 2019 Mastercard Memorial Cup will either be played in Moncton or Halifax.

Next year will be the 25th anniversary of the Halifax Mooseheads and the Herd last hosted the Canadian Hockey League championship tournament in 2000.
