The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents the new, interactive Halifax Bike Map app is now live.

Feedback from residents showed a strong desire for a more user-friendly tool for bicycle route planning, similar to what is offered in many other Canadian cities.

The new app will allow users to see the following:

  • Existing cycling infrastructure
  • Suggested cycling routes where dedicated infrastructure does not currently exist
  • Bike lockers
  • Other features including schools, libraries, transit terminals, recreation centres and public washrooms

Users will also be able to search for specific routes, and pan and zoom around the map to locate routes near their neighbourhood and click for more information.

Printed copies of the Halifax Bike Map, updated annually, will remain available at municipal recreation centres and other bike-friendly businesses throughout the region. Residents can also call 311 to request a printed map.
