RCMP postpone weekend search for man missing since last May (update)

UPDATE: The RCMP/GSAR search originally planned for April 13 and 14 has been postponed to April 27 and 28 due to snow cover on the ground.

Windsor District RCMP, along with volunteer Ground Search and Rescue teams, will be spending the weekend looking for a man who has been missing since last May.

They say new information has given them a more accurate location of where Timothy Wells was last seen.

Missing since May 12, 2018, Wells is described as white, around 6 feet tall and 270 pounds. He has thinning grey hair, a scruffy beard and blue eyes.

He had been wearing a blue jacket with a white crest on the left side and an orange bicycle helmet.

“Our hope is that we can find some evidence that helps provide Tim's family with some information about what happened to him,” says S/Sgt. Cory Bushell. “We would like to thank everyone who has come forward to offer tips and information about Tim.”

Last year, police conducted an air search for Wells.

At the time, they reported he had been spotting riding a bicycle on Highway 14 in Vaughan, between Windsor and Chester.
