Roach wins again, pushing Jeopardy! streak to 12

By Mark Hodgins

Halifax's Jeopardy! champion has kept her streak alive on the popular game show.

Mattea Roach pulling off win number 12 on Wednesday night's episode.

This puts her tied for Number 9 on the list of regular-season winning streaks with Austin Rogers and Seth Wilson, who were on the show in 2017 and 2016 respectively.

Jeopardy! champion-turned-host Ken Jennings, who won 74 games in 2004, tops the list, while Amy Schneider ranks second after a 40-game streak earlier this year.

By the time last night's episode reached Final Jeopardy!, both of Roach's competitors has scores below $0, leaving her the only one able to play that stage of the game.

Jennings, who is hosting the show this week, gave this clue: “This website launched in 2015 with three offerings, from James Patterson, Dustin Hoffman and Serena williams”.

Roach correctly responded, “Masterclass”.

The Nova Scotia native added $26,400 to her winnings, for a 12-day total of $271,282.

She'll be back in action on Thursday night at 8:30 p.m.
