Highway 102 is now fully reopen near the airport says Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.

Police shut down the stretch Thursday morning after a truck caught on fire near Exit 6.

“As far as we know there was a tractor trailer that appeared to be pretty much fully engulfed, from what I understand from my members at the scene,” explained RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Clarke. “No one was injured, which is a great thing, and that appears to be the only vehicle that was involved.”

Police had to reroute traffic to Highway 2 at Exit 7.

Clarke said, because of the water sprayed to extinguish the blaze, the road became quite icy.
