WATCH: Officials provide update on Fiona preparations on Thursday, Sept. 22

Nova Scotia’s Emergency Management Office will be hosting a media briefing Thursday afternoon, along with key partners, to provide update on Fiona preparations.
It's starts at 2:30 p.m.
Mayor Mike Savage and Erica Fleck, HRM's assistant chief of emergency management, will be participating, along with:
- John Lohr, Minister responsible for the provincial Emergency Management Office
- Mayor Amanda McDougall, Cape Breton Regional Municipality
- Dave Pickles, Chief Operating Officer, Nova Scotia Power Inc.
- Bob Robichaud, Warning Preparedness Meteorologist, Environment and Climate Change Canada
- other representatives of provincial and municipal emergency management offices
A hurricane watch has now officially been issued for the Halifax Regional Municipality.
There are already several closures and cancellations ahead of the weekend.
