HALIFAX – The Halifax Mooseheads picked up a dominant 7-1 win over the Shawinigan Cataractes Thursday night at the Scotiabank Centre.
The Mooseheads dominated from the opening puck drop, with Patty Kyte, Jared McIsaac and Justin Barron giving Halifax a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.
The second period saw the Mooseheads extend their lead as McIsaac scored his second of the evening while Ben Higgins and Xavier Parent tacked on a pair of goals to make it 6-0 Halifax.
Arnaurd Durandeau added to the Herd's lead early in the third period. A short time later, Xavier Cormier finally put the Cataractes on the board.
But it wasn't enough as the Herd cruised to a 7-1 victory.
The Mooseheads head to Cape Breton on Friday to take on the Screaming Eagles.
