Cash and jewelry stolen from elderly woman’s home

Halifax Regional Police are investigating after an elderly woman found a man in her Flamingo Drive home Tuesday morning.

The break-in happened at around 11:30 a.m.

Police say when the 81-year-old asked the man what he was doing, the suspect left the home and the area. However after he ran off, she discovered some money was missing, along with several pieces of jewelry that had sentimental value.

The suspect is described as white and in his 30s with a moustache. He was wearing a black jacket, black ball cap and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
