A Halifax man has been handed a hefty fine after being charged with stunting Monday.
Halifax Regional Police say an officer confirmed a vehicle's speed to be over 104 km/h in a 50 km/h zone of Highway 102 at around 4:30 p.m.
A stunting charge — which comes with a $2,422.50 fine — is automatic for any vehicle going over 50 km/h over the posted limit.
The 39-year-old's licence has been suspended for a week and the vehicle he was driving has been impounded.
“We all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe,” said HRP in a news release. “If you see someone driving dangerously, report it to police by calling 911.”
