House fire causes one death in Jeddore

A house fire on Ostrea Lake Road in Jeddore has caused a person to die.

Around 6:36 a.m. on Thursday, Halifax RCMP responded to the incident; one person was found dead in the home.

"Preliminary investigation has led police to believe that the fire is not suspicious at this time," an RCMP news release says.

The investigation is continuing under the Musquodoboit Harbour RCMP, Halifax Integrated General Investigative Section, RCMP Forensic Identification Services, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office and Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency.

"Further information will be released as it becomes available," the news release reads. "Our thoughts are with the victims’ families at this difficult time."
