Man charged with stunting Friday morning

A 21-year-old man has been handed a hefty fine after being charged with stunting Friday morning.

Halifax Regional Police say an officer spotted a car going 157 km/h in a 80 km/h zone of Highway 111 near Burnside Drive at around 8:20 a.m.

The fine for stunting is $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to the driver's record. 

In addition, he can't drive for a week and the vehicle was impounded.

He was also ticketed for unsafe lane changing and having an expired license plate.
