Mulgrave Park fire believed to be arson

By Meghan Groff

Investigators believe a fire in Halifax's north end Tuesday morning was intentionally set.

Emergency crews were called to Mulgrave Park just before 9 a.m. where they found a townhouse on fire.

One woman was taken to hospital.

The blaze extensively damaged a four-unit building and ten people have been displaced. The Canadian Red Cross is helping them with emergency lodging and other basic supplies.

A GoFundMe page set up to help the four affected families has already raised over $33,000.

The arson investigation by Halifax Regional Police is in the early stages. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
