Police ask public to avoid areas of Dartmouth (update)

Halifax Regional Police are asking the public to avoid areas of Dartmouth.

They say officers are on scene near Dartmouth High, John Martin Junior High and Woodlawn High schools for an investigation.

Both Dartmouth High and John Martin Junior High, including Bedford and Forsyth Education Centres' Dartmouth site were placed on a hold and secure late Wednesday morning, but as of noon, police say that has been lifted.

HRP say there's no threat to public safety.

They plan to release more information when it's available.
