Police called in to clear traffic congestion near Crystal Crescent Beach

By CityNews Halifax Staff

Halifax Regional Police are reminding beachgoers to make sure they're not blocking the roadway when they park.

With the warm weather causing Haligonians to descend upon Crystal Crescent Beach, police started getting several complaints about parking on Sambro Creek Rd.

“Vehicles were parked up and down both sides not leaving sufficient space for vehicles to turn around or leave room for emergency vehicles to pass through,” said police in a news release.

Officers temporarily shut the road down with barricades until some of the congestion could be cleared.

“We appreciate the public’s patience with this traffic disruption and remind people to park in a location that does not block a roadway from allowing emergency vehicles or other traffic to pass,” police said.
