A 21-year-old woman has been given a $2,422.50 ticket after being charged with stunting Thursday morning.

Halifax Regional Police say an officer spotted the car going 155 km/h in a 100 km/h zone of Highway 118 near Wright Avenue at around 7:30 a.m.

Stunting charges are automatic for any vehicle going more than 50 km/h over the speed limit, and in addition to the hefty fine, six points are assigned to the driver’s record.

The woman's licence was also suspended for a week and the vehicle was impounded.

Police say she was also ticketed for failing to provide proof of insurance.
