A Mount Uniacke man has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a workplace accident late Friday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Larry Uteck Boulevard just before 11 a.m. Friday.

Halifax Regional Police say a stone countertop fell on the 28-year-old's leg.

The province's Department of Labour is now conducting an inspection and a spokesperson says they've issued a stop work order at the site.
