Charlottetown Islanders top Halifax Mooseheads 8-2

The Charlottetown Islanders topped the Halifax Mooseheads 8-2 on Wednesday night.

Patrick Guay opened up the scoring for the Islanders in the opening period.

Zachary L'Heureux answered back in the second to tie things up at 1-1.

Drew Elliott and William Trudeau helped restore Charlottetown's lead, making it 3-1 after 40 minutes.

Brett Budgell scored early in the third period but Jordan Dumais quickly responded back to bring the Herd within two.

Sam Bowness and Keiran Gallant added a pair while Matis Ouellet scored two to make it an 8-2 final. 

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Thursday when they welcome the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
