HRM mass H1N1 clinics end

Community H1H1 clinics are ending today, so if you can’t make it, you’ll have to go to your family physician.
“Over the past six and a half weeks we have vaccinated more than 62,000 people in 130 clinic in over 40 different communities,” says Capital Health’s medical officer of health Dr. Gaynor Watson-Creed.
The Capital District Health Authority says they’ve handed out over 285,000, 180,000 of which have gone to physicians.
Watson-Creed says they’re still vaccinating roughly 2,000 a day at public clinics, but she’s confident family doctors can handle that number.
“Certainly with 320 family doctors if each of those only does 10 a day we’re easily doing 3000 people in the district still,” says Watson-Creed.
She says suspended programs like the pre-natal and youth health centre programs will resume now that public H1N1 clinics are over.
