Lower Sackville fire destroys home

An fire on the weekend has left a woman homeless after her mobile home was destroyed in Lower Sackville.
The blaze at 22 Allan Street was reported around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
Platoon Chief for the Halifax Regional Fire Service Mike Blackburn tells the Herald they believe it started from an unattended candle.
The woman’s house was not insured.
The Red Cross says she is staying with a relative for the time being, its volunteers are assisting with winter clothing and food.
