Tough loss for Halifax Mooseheads

A couple of posts helped the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles to a 2-0 win over the Halifax Mooseheads at the Metro Centre Saturday.
After Friday’s lackluster effort, coach Cam Russell said the team would have to play much more physical against Cape Breton. The Mooseheads did that, and even managed to control the pace of the game, outwork and outshoot the Screaming Eagles.
However the Viktor Hertzberg would get the Eagles up 1-0 and that pesky red iron cage surrounding the net would stop the Mooseheads from tying on two separate occasions.
Charles Bety thought he had scored midway through the second, and then Tomas Knotek on a breakaway nailed one off the iron as well.
Also in the second Gerrad Grant thought he had scored when he poked the puck into the net, however the play had been whistled down despite Cape Breton goaltender Olivier Roy not having control of the puck.
New acquisition Peter Delmas started his first game with the team Saturday and made several sparkling saves throughout the game earning him the third star of the night.
It would be the scorer of the first Eagles goal, Viktor Hertzberg, who would put the nail in the Mooseheads coffin, scoring with just 2:33 left in the game.
The Mooseheads play their third game in three days Sunday, they travel to Moncton for a 4pm game, catch the action live on News957.
