Some residents who were forced from their homes following a fire in a south-end townhouse Tuesday have been able to retreive items from their burnt-out apartments.
Downtown Coun. Dawn Sloane says the 25 people left homeless after the blaze have found temporary beds.
“Some are staying with friends and family,” she said. “Those that are still affected, I believe they have found other locations.”
It could be weeks before the residents can move back into their apartments.
Sloane is asking anyone who knows of affordable bachelor or one- and two-bedroom apartments in the area to call her at 488-4812.
Sloane adds fire crews have concluded their investigation and we could know soon the cause of the fire.
