Dartmouth fire definitely an arson: Police

A man has been arrested in connection with a house fire in Dartmouth, Thursday morning.

“The front door was determined to be forced open and there were definite signs inside that the fire was deliberately set,” sys Cst. Brian Palmeter with Halifax Police.

The fire was in basement, the main floor and in the attic of 42 Skeena St. in the Woodlawn area of Dartmouth. No one was hurt, however two cats died.

Police arrested have a man and he is being charged with break and enter, arson and uttering threats.

Police say the suspect had some sort of relationship with the residents of the home and that this was not a random act. No other arrests are expected.
