Quebec Police investigating ‘Captain Canada’ for hit

Quebec Provincial Police are investigating a hit in a weekend QMJHL game that’s been described as “ugly, brutal and cheap.”
Former captain of Canada’s world junior championship sqaud Patrice Cormier flattened Quebec Remparts defenceman Mikael Tam with an elbow to the head on Sunday.
Tam, 18, fell and started convulsing. He was rushed to hospital with brain trauma and is now in stable condition.
Saint Mary’s hockey coach Trevor Steinberg tells CTV he respects Cormier as a player, but doesn’t like to see those kinds of hits.
“I like the way he plays for the most part,” he said.” I think there’s a place for that in hockey, but there’s no place for what he did.”
Cormier, 19 has been suspended from the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies indefinitely. Local police in Rouyn-Noranda are also investigating the hit.
