Police are investigating another violent incident in the downtown bar district.
A man has what appears to be serious head injuries after some kind of fight at Cheers.
Halifax Regional Police Staff Sgt. Barb Saunders tells News 95.7 the call came in early Thursday morning.
“At 2:30 a.m., Halifax police responded to Cheers regarding an injured person,” she said. “It was a male, he was on the sidewalk, unconscious, and bleeding from the head.”
Saunders says it appears the man was pushed out of the bar, then fell and hit his head on the pavement.
It’s believed the victim was having a dispute with another patron a bouncer was not involved.
Police have a person in custody but no charges have been laid at this point.
