More charges possible against Redoubt rave organizers

Regional police are considering charges against the organizers of a rave held at York Redoubt on the weekend.

About 120 people ranging in age from 15 to 20 partied at an abandoned, unheated bunker at the historic site on Saturday.

One 18-year-old girl was found unconscious and rushed to hospital.

One partygoer tells the Herald he paid $25 for tickets and was expecting a heated venue, security, drinks, bathrooms and a shuttle bus.

But the original venue was cancelled and the ravers ended up at the unventilated bunker, filled with carbon monoxide fumes from a portable generator, without any way of leaving.

Police say dozens of people were also underdressed for the bitter temperatures.

Rave promoter Travis Dzielak writes on his Facebook page that the organizers promised him they’d secured a good venue and he’s offering to refund half the price of admission.
