Apologies, outrage from Province House

Nova Scotia’s leaders say the speaker for the house should name the MLAs who made questionable purchases with taxpayers money.
Many members of the legislature – and former members – are keeping quiet since the auditor general’s damning report was released Wednesday.
NDP MLA Bill Estabrooks says the auditor general’s report and the misuse of taxpayers’ money has tarnished every Nova Scotian politician.
“People are always suspicious of the fact whenever the decision is made, ‘who’s friends are you helping out?’,” says Estabrooks.
“We’re all tarnished by the same brush and we have to live by that, and we have to make it better.”
Estabrooks was not named, but John MacDonell has admitted to spending $13,000 on custom office furniture and $2600 on a printer.
“I think my constituents to me are probably the most important people I deal with so for them I would definitely like to apologize,” says MacDonell.
Tory MLA Richard Hurlburt says he’s not apologetic for buying an $8000 generator, which he says is for his community.
Fifty-two MLAs were noted but not named in the report.
