Opening ceremonies live on News 95.7

Canadian superstars, holograms of heroes and a laundry list of final torch bearers – the rumour mill has been churning fast, especially when it comes to who will light that cauldron. People we’re speaking with have several suggestions from Wayne Gretzky to a representative of Terry Fox’s family.

VANOC CEO John Furlong is telling people to ignore the hype. Some of it is completely wrong and a lot is not accurate. He thinks people want an unexpected  show and he has repeatedly told us it will be magical with lots of great fun.  In the end, he hopes we will still be surprised.
