For the third straight day this week, a group is speaking out about a holiday in February.
“Dexter government campaigned on a promise to stand up for today’s families, and we think what a great time for this government to jump up and call it family day,” says CUPE Nova Scotia President Danny Cavanaugh.
Five provinces and every American state had Monday off.
Some business groups are opposed to the idea. However Cavanaugh, who runs a small restaurant in Truro says employees need a break this time of year.
The NDP government is leaving the door slightly open. Labour Minister Marilyn More says they will discuss it.
