A bitter loss to the US isn’t fazing men’s hockey fans in Cole Harbour.
The road to gold may be more rocky for Canada, but quite a few think hometown hero Sidney Crosby can help pull it off.
“Sid will pull it together,” says Craig. “Sid will rally the troops and pull it out,”
Winning a gold medal in men’s hockey means winning four games in six days.
“I think the boys got enough internal stamina, internal desire that they could do it,” says Kevin. “Hey, it will be the next miracle team!”
Meanwhile, Craig says he thinks we’ll definitely come away with some sort of medal, and says surging ahead and taking the gold is the Canadian way.
“The goaltending is the weakest part of that team right now,” he says. “I think we can pull her out but I don’t know who we’re going to put in nets to do it, though.”
The men take to the ice again Tuesday night against Germany. If they pull out a win, they’ll face the Russians Wednesday.
