One man dead, another in custody after stabbing in Spryfield

An overnight stabbing in a Spryfield apartment has left one man dead Tuesday, with another in police custody.
Police were called to 6 Foxwood Terrace around 1:30 a.m. and when they arrived they found 48-year-old Robert Douglas Payne with a single stab wound in the chest. He died in hospital.
“The victim is known to police,” said Cst. Brian Palmeter with Halifax Police.
One man was taken into custody, Police say they believe the two men knew each other.
Rashmin lives in the building with his wife, and their young child.
“I never expect like this over here, that’s really scary,” he says.
Another neighbour says a man in his 20s lives in the apartment. However police aren’t confirming which apartment, or if the victim lived there.
Investigators are waiting for the results of autopsy and the man arrested at the scene remains in police custody.
