VANCOUVER, B.C. – Canadian figure skater Joannie Rochette and her coach Manon Perron released their first public statement since the death of Rochette’s mother – Therese Rochette – early on Sunday morning.
Rochette and Perron had said previously that they would not make any public statements until of the conclusion of the ladies’ figure skating free skate tonight, but an outpouring of support through email and texts prompted them to issue a statement early.
