Man facing charges after Spryfield stabbing

Police have charged a 28-year-old man from Halifax with manslaughter after a fatal stabbing in Spryfield.
Michael Ells was remanded until an appearance in Halifax provincial court today.
Police received a 911 call around 1:30 Tuesday morning from an apartment on Foxwood Terrace. When officers arrived, they found Robert Douglas Payne, 48, suffering from a stab wound to the chest.
He died in hospital soon afterwards.
Ells was arrested at the scene.
Police say the accused and victim knew each other.
