Police hunting for serial south-end flasher

Halifax Regional Police are investigating four acts of indecent exposure that happened in quick succession in the city’s south end.
Staff Sgt. Brenda Zima tells News 95.7 the incidents appear to involve the same person – a man who dropped his pants in front of pedestrians in four separate locations between 6:30 and 9:30 Sunday evening.
She says police received calls from witnesses at all four locations, but the suspect had moved on by the time the calls were placed.
“It happened so quickly and in such different areas, and it’s a crime that happens in seconds and then he’s gone,” she said.
Zima says it’s believed the man had access to a vehicle described only as small, boxy and teal-coloured.
She says it’s an incident of great concern to police and to local residents, who have already had to contend with the sleepwatcher and a serial groper in recent months.
“It’s very disconcerting to women in the area, having that type of offence taking place in front of them,” she said. “It causes them to not feel comfortable to be in those areas.”
The suspect is described as a young man in his twenties with brown hair, about six feet tall.
Zima says the incidents happened on LeMarchant Street, Coburg Road, Quinpool and Preston and finally at Watt and Vernon. She says anyone with information on the flasher is asked to contact police.
