Police investigating fourth shooting in two weeks

Another home in metro has been sprayed with bullets.
Police were called to a home on Abrams Way off Herring Cove Road just after 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The homeowners were in the house at the time, but no one was hurt.
The shooting is not believed to be random – nor is it believed to be connected to three similar incidents in Cherry Brook and North Preston over the last 10 days.
But police say five people were taken into custody and a sawed-off shotgun was recovered.
Staff Sgt. Brenda Zima tells News 95.7, Wednesday night’s investigation led officers to a home on Pine Grove Drive, near the scene of the shooting. Three men were arrested, but Zima says it turns out none of them pulled the trigger.
“We do know that they were in the immediate area,” she said. “They were either in the home, outside the home or in the general vicinity. We’re still trying to nail down the actual details.”
Zima says an officer looking for the shooter saw a car with a 17-year-old girl and a 15 year old boy inside.
“He pulled over that vehicle and conducted a traffic stop and recovered a sawed-off shotgun inside the vehicle,” she said.
Zima says the gun is not believed to be the weapon used to fire the shots at the Abrams Way home. However, she says the two teens know the people who live there – and the boy is one of the three men arrested on Pine Grove Drive immediately after the shooting.
The 17-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy will both appear in court today to face weapons charges.
