A scary incident at a downtown Halifax hotel early yesterday.
Staff Sgt. Darrell Gaudet says a woman left her room at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel shortly before 1 a.m. to get a drink from the vending machine.
“She left her room to go down and get a drink and at that time she was approached by the accused party where he sexually assaulted her,” says Gaudet. “She was able to use her sense to convince the male that she had to go back to her room and when they got back to her room her husband was in the room.”
Gaudet says a fight ensued between the husband and the accused, so the wife ran to the front desk for help.
Police arrived and arrested 21-year old Andrew Norman Wilson of Edmonton, Alberta.
He’ll be in court Tuesday to face charges of sexual assault, aggravated assault, forcible confinement, chocking and unlawfully entering a dwelling.
