People sad to see Spartan go

It’s a sad day for fans of the Spartan Restaurant on Quinpool Road.

Sunday is the last day the Spartan will serve it’s popular Greek dishes to the public because its owners are retiring after 44 years of service.

That of course means big lineups to get in, but Jamie says it’s well worth it to get the breakfast special and rice pudding.

“It’s really sad, I don’t know what I’m going to do on my weekends now, I’ve been eating breakfast here now for 16 years,” he said. “It’s the end of an era.”

The spartan will be reopening in a couple weeks with an Egyptian flavor.

It will be called Louly’s and offer some exotic Egyptian dishes, along with some of the standards.
