April temperatures soaring well above normal

You probably already know that temperatures have been warmer than usual over the last month – but did you know how much warmer?
Metro Halifax reports that temperatures at the Halifax Airport have been, on average, more than eight degrees above normal since April 1.
Typically, Halifax would get daily highs of seven or eight degrees at this time of year, but since March Break, temperatures have been consistently hitting the high teens and even low twenties.
Several weather records have been broken – the latest on Sunday.
Environment Canada is predicting more seasonal temperatures in the next couple of weeks, thanks to some cooler air systems moving in.
