South End Halifax residents are in shock following a shooting in a popular residential neighbourhood and police are still on the hunt for two suspects.
Police say two masked assailants entered a home on Queen Street around 1 a.m. Wednesday and shot a 35-year-old man in the hip.
They don’t believe it is random, adding they found a quantity of marijuana inside and outside the home.
Residents were surprised to see police tape surrounding the row of homes on Queen Street.
“That’s scary I got a little sister that’s only a kid and she walks down the street she’s got friends that live around here,” says Colton. “Anybody getting caught in the crossfire would be horrible.”
However, Frank lives across the street and says he’s not worried because he’s not involved in it
“You get involved in that then you’re going to get involved in some pretty heavy characters, I suppose,” he says.
The shooting is the tenth in metro in recent weeks.
