Dartmouth residents angered by racist graffiti

Some Dartmouth residents aren’t happy about anti-China messages that have been spray painted on light poles at a busy intersection.
The graffiti covers 15 light posts at the intersection of Wyse and Nantucket and mostly states “China out of Tibet.”
But a few slogans read “China out of Nova Scotia,” or “China out of Dartmouth.”
Research scientist Dongming Tang spotted the graffiti Monday. He tells the CBC he loves his adopted homeland and he’s hurt by the unwelcoming message.
Other pedestrians called the slogans offensive and counter productive.
Police say it does not constitute a hate crime.
