Family looks for closure in unsolved murder

The family of Tanya Brooks is looking for closure a year after she was found dead near a Halifax school.
Brooks’ body was found in a window well at St. Patrick’s Alexandra School on Maitland Street.
Her younger sister Maggie says when a relative is murdered and the murder is unsolved, closure is impossible.
“There’s no finalization, there’s no chance to say goodbye there’s no chance to fix any broken rifts between family members. It’s so finite.
The police say their investigation is still very active.
“We have recieved information and there’s some indication that there other people around that area,” says Cst. Brian Palmeter with Halifax police. “Those are the people we are reaching out to and we’re looking to have them contact us to provide their information to us.”
Maggie says she just wants to know why someone would just kill such a beautiful person.
There’s a walk in Millbrook Tuesday to remember Tanya’s death.
The province is also offering a $150,000 reward for info that results in a conviction in the case.
