N.S. gas prices take surprise dip

Filling the gas tank will cost a bit less for the next week.

Nova Scotia’s regulated prices have dropped as predicted – but by quite a bit more than was expected.

The new price for regular self-serve in metro is $1.04.2 this morning, 3.4 cents lower than on Thursday.

Diesel prices also took a sizeable plunge of 4.1 cents a litre to a new maximum of $1.02.6.

The gap between current prices and those of a year ago is narrowing – at this time in 2009, gas in metro was selling for 99 cents a litre – just five cents less than today’s price.
