McNeil receives 83% support

A strong show of support for Nova Scotia’s Liberal leader.

Stephen McNeil received 83-percent support as his party reviewed his performance during its annual general meeting in antigonish.

McNeil says it’s clear he still has strong support in the party judging by the 2,375 votes cast.

He warned party members they risked losing political momentum if they voted against him.

There was dissent in the weeks leading up to the party-wide vote when an anonymous e-mail was circulated to all party members criticizing McNeil’s leadership.
